The Opposite of Congress
So it’s been a busy past few weeks getting my home lab set up. Thus far, I’ve accomplished the following: n
n
Fedora Apache Server Restored to service (PSU Replaced). This bad PSU resulted in the 5 days of downtime for Matt5lot10. So much for my goal of 99…
n
Fedora updated update to FC19, Apache, PHP, and MySQL installed to host this site
n
NAS built with BTRFS (1TB and 500GB drive) with SAMBA4
n
Music and Movies transferred from HTPC to NAS. Initially rsync via Samba shares, but in the interest of speed (and to learn), I moved the disks into the NAS using vgexport and vgimport.
n
HTPC hard-drive swap and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS reinstall (resolution of HDMI/display issue)
n
LVM disks repurposed for BTRFS NAS dives
n
Mattbook Pro updated to OSX Mavericks
n
nThe fun isn’t nearly over yet though- I still have the following to accomplish: n
n
Full NAS build-out once this baby arrives
n
Configure iSCSI
n
Mini-rack install
n
ESXi build
n
vCenter Build
n
Switch configuration and VLAN creation
n
Matt5lot10.com moved to Highly-available VM
n
AD, DNS, LDAP, and DHCP service standup
n
VDI deployment
n
Profit
n
Matt5lot10 updates - particularly the “Where’s 5” feature, assuming Google+ API team gets its act together
n
nI’m pretty excited about these projects and will do my best to post regular updates to both here and IceCreamInTheDungeon
